Truth is precious, yet when held in the hands and hearts of men, the transference from one to another is quite fragile. Truth is a whole. Some have dissected principles and precepts from the whole and thought to maintain the integrity of isolated truths. However, we have seen the sad truth, like a pearl, its value is only maintained as a complete thing that cannot be split or subdivided. When one tries to cleave one part from the whole, all is lost. We have seen this illustrated across the spectrum of Christianity. Sadly, I have known some who personally have tried, and the failure is obvious to all, save themselves. Often cultural desires and ideas have been used to approve and disregard different segments of scripture. However, the resulting product has neither remained true nor virtuous. This quote is a political quote; however, I believe one can change the word freedom for truth and find it no less compelling. “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.” How many dead sainted souls would be so ashamed at what has been done under the banner of Christianity and the evil that is now accepted as a virtue by those walking under it? I am reminded of the closing words of scripture from Jesus to us as His believers. ” For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” Jesus Revelation 22:18
