The Divine Invitation To Choose Life and Blessing

The greatest act of God’s Sovereignty is seen when he gave each of us individual sovereignty to choose.

Jesus knocks on the door of your heart with an invitation to open the door and invite Him inside.

Since the beginning, God has provided each an option for one to choose.

To choose life or death, blessing or cursing.

This is encapsulated in this scripture,

God speaks to His people.

“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:”
Deuteronomy 30:19

Serving God does not keep us from experiencing hardship or difficulty. However, what it does do, within every hardship and difficulty, we are never alone.

Jesus will respond to anyone who cries out in distress.

In Genesis, the first worship offered by Cain was rejected.

However, God warned him and told him if he worshiped correctly, he would be accepted, blessed, and have dominion. He ignored the warning, and he became a person under the curse.

In the book of Revelation, we are given seven examples of Jesus exhorting believers to worship, serve, and understand God correctly. With a warning and a promise, if they responded properly they would be blessed with an unspeakable blessing; if they ignored the warning, they would be cursed with an unspeakable curse.

As it was for Adam and Eve, we are given a choice.

To eat from the tree of life and everything good and beautiful, or to participate in that which is forbidden and off limits. They rationalized themselves into an unspeakable curse that still curses every one of their children to this day.

However, God gives us a daily opportunity to break the curse and step into the promise of blessing.

“And he, Jesus, said to them all, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me.”  Luke 9:23
