The Booker Blessing

“Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” Joshua 1:9
I remember as a young man in ministry, a man I held in the highest regard rolled up toward the platform with his Bible open and his finger on a verse of scripture. This man, Bro Booker, he said to me, “The Lord prompted me to give you this chapter to read and know that as it was true for Joshua, it is true for you.
It came at a moment that this was a Rhema word from the Logos word.
Encouragement. Strength. Blessing.
These flowed into my heart like a river.
As I consider it, I am reminded of that moment and makes me appreciate this particular man, at that specific moment, and these holy Words and the blessing it gave me.
Bro. Booker has long been dead. I remember preaching his Funeral in Jackson, Tennessee.
To this day, this memory, the man, this message gives me encouragement, strength, and blessing.
I want to bless someone like Bro Booker blessed me that almost twenty-five years later gives me blessings.
Sadly, so many people allow the bad experiences, unfortunate misunderstandings, personal weaknesses, and failure of others to rob them of what could be in their lives.
Rather than connecting to the things that blessed them and make themselves bless others, they connect themselves mentally, spiritually, even their very souls that what is perpetuated from them is not what it could be.
You really can be a blessing, if you will lift up the blessings.
I can still see Bro Booker. He had such a strong look, and he lifted up the Bible toward me while pointing at the scripture,
“”Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” Joshua 1:9

I lift this scripture to you today and point my proverbial finger to it and tell you, that as it was for Joshua, it can be for you! https://www.facebook.com/springridgechurch/
