” Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” 1 John 2
The Apostle of Love gave simple and profound wisdom. He teaches us what and who to love and what not to love.
Many people are well versed in the Love of God toward us and how we should love others and God.
However, there is radio silence in those things we should not love.
John makes an astounding statement.
If you love the world, you don’t love God.
Think about that for just a minute.
God Help Us not to love in word only but in deed.
“Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.”
We choose what we allow our mind to be fascinated and think about. Paul tells us here, don’t allow yourself to be enamored with temporary things. Read Colossians chapter three.
We choose what we love, what we are moved by, and allow to fill our hearts and mind, and dominate our conversation and goals.
Finally, listen to Jesus,
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33
