Listening/reading to Proverbs this morning. The last words of the last verse for Proverbs chapter four

“remove thy foot from evil.”

We have all stepped in it before.

We have walked into conversations.
We have started watching a video.
We have started reading a book.
We have started listening to a podcast.

At some point, we are confronted with evil mixed in.

Will we remove our foot from evil?

Sometimes, after you have stepped in it, you must wash your foot and shoe to remove the evidence and smell.

You did not intend to step into it. It was inadvertent.

However, here you are. You have stepped in it.

What next?

Remove your foot from evil, and remove the evil from your foot.

If you have put your foot in your mouth, don’t leave your foot in your mouth and wash your mouth out.
