Notes to Lesson 11

Love.   True Christian Love is a love that reflects God’s love through us to others.   Agape love is one that loves those who betray, deny, forget and no longer see a need for you in their lives.

Human love often functions on an idea of “This person benefits me.”

Divine love, agape, I love this person even if they don’t see my value in their lives.  I value them none the less.

This is only possible through the work of the Spirit of God.

The Fruit of the Spirit is love,

Therefore if love is lacking, speaks to a lacking of the spirit of Gods influence flowing through your life.

Our prayer, desire and spiritual hunger should desire to see others blessed, free, joyful and at peace.

Lord Jesus I pray for their salvation!

It’s all about love.

God’s desire is that your world would experience His love through your words, actions, attitudes and desires.

Deuteronomy 6

1 Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the Lord your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:

2 That thou mightest fear the Lord thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son’s son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.

3 Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the Lord God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.

4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:

5 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:

7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.

9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

Receiving the Torah — namely, the individual’s and the nation’s awareness of the Torah’s contents, aspirations and goals, and the inner acceptance thereof as part of our thinking, experiences and desires

Shavuot, literally translated as the festival of weeks, gets its name as it is celebrated exactly seven weeks after the second Passover meal, where the exodus from Egypt is recounted. It is believed that Moses received the Ten Commandments and the Torah seven weeks after the Jewish people left Egypt.

A feast held on the sixth and seventh days of Sivan in commemoration of the revelation of the Law on Mount Sinai and the celebration of the wheat festival in ancient times. Also called Pentecost.

Ephesians 2:19-21

19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:

2 Timothy 3:15-17

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

The Premise of this series has been on the idea and concept that our Christian faith is rooted and built upon the foundation of scripture.

It is not based on denominational tradition.

It is not based on the figureheads of the reformation.

It is not based in the nebulas ideas of Historical Christianity,

But rather reaching past “Historical Christianity to the Original Christianity”

The Apostolic Faith is rooted literally in the writings, actions and doctrinal outlines found directly in scripture.

Not adding to, nor taking away.

Acts 2:42

And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

The Apostolic Faith is rooted in a love for God and a RESPECT for the Word of God.

I don’t just love God.

I love the Word of God that reveals who God is.

John 7:37-39

37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

Our Faith, our Apostolic Faith speaks to our reverence and hallowed attitude toward what the Bible actually says, not what we want it to say.

Therefore as apostolics we respect what the Bible Says to the Issues of life and purpose.

Deu 4

1 Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you.

2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

Deu 12:32

What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

Revelation 22

8 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

This Apostolic Faith.

It’s all about Love.

Oh How I love this Apostolic Word of God.
