How long can you hold your breath?
I read the average person can hold their breath one to five minutes. The longest on record is close to twelve minutes.
That makes me out of breath thinking about it.
“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.”
If you are breathing, you are worshipping something. It might not be important and in fact it could be quite frivolous. However, as a creature made in the image of God, our focus, thoughts, words, attitudes, and emotions are giving importance and weight.
It could be anger and bitterness.
It could be discouragement and hopelessness.
It could be entertainment and sports.
The spectrum of what we worship is limitless.
We all worship something.
However, we can decide to worship God on purpose.
We can harness our mind and time and discipline ourselves to be true worshippers. This kind of decision will bring a cascading effect on everyone around us.
Worship God.
Psalms 150
1 Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.
2 Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.
3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.
4 Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.
5 Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.
6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.
