Goliath never stood a chance.

Goliath, a professional soldier, weighing with his armor as much as eight hundred pound man towering nine feet tall.  His spear was over twenty feet long.  Add all his armor, sword, and another warrior who carried his shield, weighing 150 pounds, and another warrior who followed him with another spear.

Goliath’s War was not with David; he declared war on God.  Not a chance he would win that one.

David stepped on the battlefield, he understood, It was God that was going to destroy the Giant.

Listen to what David says to the Giant, it is instructive to understand the thoughts that motivated such an example of faith.

“Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.  This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.  And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give you into our hands.”  1 Samuel 17:45-47

David understood this is not my battle.  The Battle is the Lords.

This battle is no challenge to the Almighty!  No sweat for God.

What would happen if we all recognized, “If God is for us, who can be against us?”
