Discouraged with your spiritual growth?…..

Written by Jayson Pagan

I love this verse: “The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining brighter and brighter until midday.” (Proverbs 4:18)

It is my experience that when the Lord saves us he deals with “sin” in general; the idea that we, as fallen men, have transgressed against the Lord. We repent of that (by turning our back on ‘sin’) and then we go forward while God begins to reveal to us the individual and particular sins…here some, and there some, and over here some; maturity becomes a process. “Brighter and brighter until the midday”.

Scripture also says, “The RIGHTEOUS man falleth seven times and riseth up again.” (Proverbs 24:16)

That is correct…the RIGHTEOUS MAN DOES FALL…. and he falls and rises and falls and rises in a particular area until he perfects that area (seven times); seven is the number of completion or perfection.

I call it THE DOCTRINE OF FALLING; the process of growth.

God reveals to us through Isaiah how He works, “For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little and there a little.” (Isaiah 28:10) God knows how to work in us… little by little, line upon line.

It is no secret that as men dig into God’s Word, they will be converted. Psalm 19:7, “The Law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul.” He will also use the man of God to preach and teach, and certainly, by his Spirit he speaks and convicts.

IT TAKES TIME…time to learn and time to apply what is learned; and so, the fruit of the Spirit is given to us so that we can certainly embrace Grace while we watch ourselves and others move through the process of spiritual growth and maturity.

Don’t be discouraged with your growth.
Keep getting up.
Keep moving forward….
Until the Perfect Day.
