Beware!

That first step down… may be a very gradual slope, but the next steps happen rapidly.
Beware of those who sow seeds of doubt in the authenticity and authority of scripture.
If we ever allow ourselves to simply read scriptural absolutes to the realm of culture, language and rationalization, the decline can happen rapidly.
We have seen this kind of thing niggling at the edges even in our movement over the past few years.
In the online world, discussion forums, we have watched countless people who once stood where we stand, and it has happened time after time. After time after time.
Thankfully, it has been isolated to pockets of small groups of men…. no doubt has affected dozens upon dozens of congregations that have been eliminated from the fold of truth and righteousness. However, our movement has been largely unaffected because our movement are strong in the conviction that the Word of God is wholly and completely inspired with an unquestioning conviction.
However, we must always be on our guard. Beware.
Sadly, we see that the trend did not go away, the trend continues in different areas and groups of fellowship.
“Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.” 2 Peter 3:17
