The Kingdom of God is like a Seed

The Kingdom of God is like…

Jesus said, “Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?   It is like a grain of mustard seed”
The Kingdom of God,
the power
the potential
the domain,
the authority
the possibility of God

is like a seed.
Faith is like a seed.
Sometimes it is hard to see God because our faith, the way we see it is something other than a seed.
The seed form of faith is where we must make a regular return.
Simple, unencumbered by old growth, past pruning, yesterday’s flowers and historical fruit.  It is so easy to simply see faith and it’s effect in our life as a memory, rather than understanding that faith by it’s very nature is always facing forward.  The work of faith diminishes when we fail to understand that the nature of faith is a stretch beyond and a step in the direction of the unknown.
A seed is a miracle in miniature.   The life that is possible in that seed is hard for us to really comprehend when simply observing what a seed looks like.
What is in the seed looks nothing like the seed.
However, when a person’s life is perpetuated by seed, they learn to trust and believe in the potential of that seed.
We are emerging from the first of the twin holidays of this time of the year.   It is common for simple things to be neglected when we are surrounded by so many bright lights, great deals, gatherings and events.   Though we are in a season where many give lip-service to faith, there is a tendency miss the simplicity of the Kingdom of God.
Many waited, spent time and money for a good deal over the past few days.  How many will demonstrate a percentage of that diligence for the kingdom of heaven?  For the spiritual strength of their own soul?  For the eternal effect for their children?
Many people fail to see the kingdom because it is so small in it’s seed form.  However the supernatural benefits that are reaped when we realize that we are stewards of the seed that is the Kingdom of God in our hearts, our homes and our children.   The kingdom of God, Jesus likened to many things, but one consistent virtue you will find is the need for a sense of personal, consistent, devout commitment.  Our stewardship to the kingdom of God in our life determines if we bear fruit, give light, gain access and enjoy lasting blessings.
Do you still believe?
Do you believe in Jesus?
Do you believe in the Word of God?
Do you believe in prayer?
Do you believe in the power of Christian fellowship?
Do you believe in the potential of preaching to generate faith and possibilities in your life?
Let us consider in our heart to face the future with our faith gazing forward.   The future of what God has for you is like a seed.
I still believe in miracles.
I still believe in healing.
I am still hungry for His righteousness.
I am still thirsty for His spirit.
I am seeking first His kingdom.
I believe in the Kingdom of God,
All things are possible to those who believe.
Scott A. Phillips
“Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?   It is like a grain of mustard seed which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:
But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.Jesus likened faith to a seed.  If one had the faith the size of a mustard seed impossible things become expected.  Mark 4:30-32
